Track & Field

The Owen Sound Invitational Track Meet for Grade 7 & 8 athletes is today.

Nine local elemntary schools will compete at West Hill Secondary School beginning at 10 am

 

 

York Region Soccer League

Division One

Owen Sound Grey Motors Strikers 4 Newmarket Lions 2

Julien Friesdorf had 2 goals for Grey Motors who move to 5 & 0 on the year and hold down first place in the division.

Eric Ball & dan Ball had the other markers for Owen Sound who trailed 2-0 at the half.

Chris Mahy got the win in goal for the Strikers who will host Borden on Thursday at the Kiwanis Soccer Complex

National Junior Coach

    Dave Cameron of the St Mike's Majors will take over as head coach of the Canadian entry for the World Junior Hockey Championships in Buffalo.

    Cameron has been an assistant coach on the junior team for the last two tournaments.

    Canada looks to regain the gold medal after losing to the United States in the 2010 Final in January.

Dudley Hewitt To Huntsville

The Canadian Junior Hockey League, the Ontario Hockey Federation and the Ontario Hockey Association have awarded the 2011 Dudley Hewitt Cup to the Town of Huntsville, and the Huntsville Muskoka Otters

The Dudley Hewitt is the annual Central Canadian ‘Jr.’ A Hockey Championship.

BAGS Junior Golf Tour

at Muskoka Highlands, Bracebridge

Simran Dhatt-Gauthier and Jordi Walker, both from Sudbury won the Minor Bantam and Bantam divisions.

Walker edged out Max McVey of Collingwood in extra holes after both shot 79 in regulation play.

Michael Vance of Aurora took the Juvenile Division with a 72 and Orangeville's Jack Shoreman matched that score to top the Junior group.

Krista Thorpe of Bracebridge won the Girls Division with an 84.
