Wind Concerns Oppose Study

A recently released study showing that wind farms pose no risk to human health is being panned by a group insists wind farms indeed do harm people.

An industry funded study finds that noise and vibration from giant wind turbines may be annoying -- but pose no risk to human health.

Doctor David Colby says there's "nothing unique" about the noise or vibrations coming from the turbines and there's no evidence the sounds have any direct adverse effect on health.

Wind Concerns Ontario President John Laforet calls the study  seriously flawed as the researchers never even talked to people who claim the turbines have harmed their health.

In addition he says the researchers based their conclusion on studies that supported the wind industry and it wasn't even peer reviewed.

Laforet says they want a comprehensive study on the health impact of wind turbines involving real people with real problems, so responsible regulations can be put in place dealing with these farms.

He also is upset with the Provincial governments stand of doing nothing about this health issues.

Laforet says the wind industry has done a great job lobbying government and avoiding regulations on where the turbines can be located.
