Grey Bruce Health Services Receives Over $500K From Endowment Fund

Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation Caring For Tomorrow fund supports hospital equipment.

Grey Bruce Health Services received a $515,000 cheque from the Owen Sound Regional Hospital Foundation this week. 

A media release says the funds are the proceeds from the Foundation's Caring for Tomorrow Endowment Fund for 2019.

The Foundation established the fund in 1996 to provide an ongoing source of  money for new diagnostic and medical equipment. 

The Endowment has already provided over $5.5 million to the hospital. 

Some money is earmarked for the hospital's most urgent equipment needs. Of the $515,000 disbursed to the Hospital, the Emerging Needs Fund contributed $375,000.

They include new case carts for surgery, new ultrasound equipment, replacement wheelchairs and furniture throughout the hospital.

In addition, there have been 27 named and special purpose funds established.
