Kincardine Looks at Strategic Outlook

Kincardine | by John Divinski

Once officially approved the strategic outlook will cover a five year period from now until 2025

Kincardine is poised to capitalize on the opportunities ahead of it.

According to Kincardine Mayor Anne Eadie, the municipality has before it, great opportunities but those opportunities need to be balanced with growth and sustainability.

The documents, presented to Committee of the Whole, (FEB 19) are meant to be used by staff during departmental planning and by council during budget and policy deliberations to set priorities to determine the necessary resources needed to complete the plans.

Mayor Eadie says the goal is to retain "the natural character in our arts, culture and heritage and our environment....with economic growth and increased population in the future."

The plans have been in the works for the last 6-to-12-months.

Once officially approved the strategic outlook will cover a five year period from now until 2025.

The documents will be back before council for final approval on March 2nd.
