Attack Shutout In Guelph

Owen Sound | by Matt Hermiz

Owen Sound can't solve Nico Daws.

Despite heavily outshooting the Storm, the Owen Sound Attack left Guelph with their winning streak snapped.

Nico Daws stopped all 40 shots he faced to backstop the Storm to a 2-0 win over the Attack in Ontario Hockey League action Friday night at the Sleeman Centre, ending Owen Sound's four-game run.

Cam Hillis and Pavel Gogolev provided the offence for Guelph, which moved two points up on the Attack for sole possession of sixth place in the OHL's Western Conference.

Owen Sound outshot Guelph 40-14. Daws made 40 saves in the win, posting his fifth shutout of the season. Mack Guzda stopped 12 taking the loss.

Tonight, the Attack (26-20-3-3) are right back in action in a home game against the Peterborough Petes (31-20-2-1).

Game time is 7:30 p.m. at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.
