2020 Will Be an Exciting Year for Hanover, Says Mayor

2020 is also the year Hanover will complete its Community and Well-Being Safety Plan.

Mayor Sue Paterson says 2020 will be a busy and exciting year for the Town of Hanover.

The Town will be working on implementing several goals from its recently refreshed Strategic Plan in the areas of economic development, community, environment and sustainable operations as well as its Cultural Plan.

There are a number of infrastructure projects that will move forward including: road reconstruction, cemetery roadway paving, a water main extension for 24th Avenue, construction of a wastewater treatment chorine disinfection system, the replacement of the engraved paver stones in Heritage Square and updates  to the Civic Theater.

2020 is also the year Hanover will complete its Community and Well-Being Safety Plan.

Paterson says enhancements will also be made to the Trail Downtown Safety initiative with the Eyes & Ears volunteer program and the Police Bike Patrol unit.

Paterson is also excited that this is the year that that Revera's new long term care facility will be constructed across from the Hanover and District Hospital.

A new Raceway administration building will also be constructed at the back stretch of the south of the track.

As for residential development, there are two new subdivisions in the works this year as well.

Paterson adds that Hanover is continuing to enhance communication strategies in 2020 through the Town's social media platforms

As part of a new communication initiative, Paterson says she will be providing quarterly updates to residents as the mayor.

All in all, Paterson says 2020 will be a productive year and she wants to keep the momentum from 2019 moving forward as Hanover takes on a number of projects and priorities.
