The 80th CFOS Sun-Times Christmas Fund Broadcast was a big win for a number of local charities and non-profit organizations in Grey Bruce.
Acts of all kinds including bands, solo performers and choirs hit the stage at the Roxy Theatre in Owen Sound Sunday and entertained both those in attendance and tuning in on the air for the milestone fundraising broadcast.
In all, the community pledged $22,698 to support more than 20 non-profit organizations in Grey Bruce during the seven-hour feature.
That total is over $4,000 more than what was brought in by the end-of-broadcast last year.
The first $10,000 raised by the 80th Annual CFOS Sun-Times Christmas Fund Broadcast is split between three local charities: Chapman House Residential Hospice of Grey Bruce, Reach Centre Grey Bruce and OSHaRE.
All other funds raised will be distributed evenly between more than 20 other local non-profits.
Donations to the cause will still be accepted throughout the holiday season at any RBC branch in Grey Bruce during regular business hours.
