Men and women alike will be strutting their stuff in bright red high heel
shoes this afternoon in Hanover.
It’s all part of the 5th annual Walk A Mile In Her Shoes event
organized by the Hanover Rotary Club.
Spokesperson Cheri Mollison calls it a fun way to raise awareness and funds
about a very important and serious issue, violence against women.
All proceeds from the walk will go to support the Women’s Centre Grey Bruce
and the Women’s House in Kincardine.
Both of these shelters serve women and children in the region and
provide programs and assistance to help them, move forward.
And best of all it’s not to late to sign up and participate in today’s

The walk begins at 1 pm in front of the Queen’s Bush on 10th
Street with a barbeque to follow.
Mollison encourages the public to come out and cheer on the participants
in their red high heel shoes.
She says anyone wanting to join can register on site, the shoes will be
Mollison says the 2 inch high heels range in size from children’s all the way
up to size 18 so everyone can participate.
Last year’s event raised 83 hundred dollars, Mollison hopes this years event
will raise even more.
