Gran Fondo Lake Huron continues to welcome back supporters from last year's inaugural event.
Recently, Shawcor, located in Kincardine, announced it was returning as a Gold Sponsor of the family-friendly biking event.
In a news release, spokesperson Aaron Klejman says "Being part of this amazing event and seeing the community rally around this meaningful cause made it a fixture on Shawcor's summer calendar."
Shawcor is a Canadian business, based in Toronto that supplies nuclear grade electrical cables that will serve Bruce Power and its refurbishment plans.
Also the Air Canada Foundation is back as a Silver Sponsor, offering two tickets to anywhere that Air Canada flies in North America, including the Caribbean, Mexico and Hawaii.
Air Canada Captain Bruce Durrer, who is also a volunteer with the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation, presented the airline ticket voucher.
The voucher will be used as a fundraising incentive prize for Gran Fondo participants.
For every $1,000 a participant collects in their fundraising efforts they will receive a ballot to be entered in the draw for the ticket voucher.
The money raised by bikers will be used to purchase equipment for the Southampton Hospital.
This year's Gran Fondo, which features courses of 30, 70, 110 and 160K routes, goes August 18th.
Bayshore Broadcasting (98 the Beach & Mix 106.5) is the major media sponsor of the cycling event.
