The Toronto Raptors are about to get Jurassic-type support from the real True North.
A couple of outdoor viewing venues are being set up in the region.
Port Elgin is holding its viewing at Coulter Parkette on Green Street and Wiarton is staging one at the parkette in the downtown core on Berford Street.
South Bruce Peninsula Community Services Director Bill Klingenberg says the idea is to generate some community spirit as they cheer on the Raptors in their quest for an NBA Championship.
The Port Elgin and Wiarton venues will be open prior to the game scheduled to begin at 9pm, Friday night.
In both cases, you are asked to bring your own chairs.
Both gatherings are no alcohol, family-friendly events.
The Wiarton event is put on by the town and the Wiarton and District Chamber of Commerce.
The Port Elgin event is sponsored by the town, downtown Port Elgin; Bruce Telecom; Gord's Imprints and Designs; Special Athletes of Saugeen Shores; and the Main Event.
