Bruce Power would like to see the Kincardine Hospital Corporation and the Hospital Foundation, spend some donated money sooner rather than later.
The Executive Vice President Corporate Affairs & Operational Services for Bruce Power, James Scongack was speaking to Kincardine Councillors when he indicated the money, originally intended for what was then, a pending redevelopment of the Kincardine Hospital which never happened, perhaps should be spent now.
Scongack says the nuclear facility would like to see some of that money spent now on immediate health care, such as helping to purchase a proposed CT Scanner for Kincardine.
He says the hospital and foundation can move forward knowing Bruce Power will support them.
He says, "They (hospital & foundation) want to put some money to work right away.........but they also want to keep some money so they can continue to advance the redevelopment (of the hospital). They have the flexibility they need to do what they think is the right community need of the time."
The 1.5-million-dollars was given a number of years ago in celebration of the 10th anniversary of Bruce Power.
