After a few month vacancy, the Hanover and District Hospital has a new second in command.
Michelle Scimes-Summers has been named Vice President of Patient Services and Chief Nursing Officer.
Scime-Summers has been promoted internally from Patient Care Manager and brings with her a diverse background in health care.
Over her entire career, Scime-Summers has collectively spent 23 years at the Hanover and District Hospital, she has also worked at level two hospitals as well as in the community sector with Community Care Access.
For Scime-Summers who began her career at the Hanover and District Hospital she couldn’t be more thrilled to now take on the role as Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer.
Scime-Summers says she is looking forward to the challenge ahead and the new role she will play.
Being a familiar face within the hospital should serve as an asset, as Summers notes she knows the players and has a good grasp on the strategic direction that the Hanover and District Hospital is heading.
Scime-Summers fills the vacancy left by Dana Howes who is now the Hanover and District Hospital’s new President.
Howes took over the roll in the New Year following the retirement of past president Katrina Wilson.
Howes is thrilled to have Scime-Summers by her side saying she brings with her a wealth of knowledge and expertise in hospital management as well as the community sector.
