MRI Campaign Receives Big Cheque

Owen Sound | by Ken Hashizume

Meaford Hospital Foundation presented a cheque for $200,000 towards the purchase of a new MRI at Owen Sound hospital.

Another local hospital foundation is contributing the Owen Sound Regional Hospital's MRI Campaign.

The Meaford Hospital Foundation presented a cheque for $200,000 to the hospital on Friday.

The Foundation raised the money from their 2018 events including the annual Harbour 5K Run/Walk, the Georgian Bay Club Foundation Golf Tournament, and the Foundation's annual online auction.

The Owen Sound hospital is looking to purchase a new faster, efficient, state-of-the-art magnetic resonance imaging machine to replace their current one which is 14 years old and is past its lifespan.

Meaford is one of five area hospital foundations (Saugeen Memorial, Centre Grey, Bruce Peninsula, and Owen Sound Regional) working together to raise $4.7 Million for the new MRI.
