The Tavistock Royals of the WOAA Senior Hockey League launched an appeal of a regular season loss in which they forfeited a game due to using an alleged illegal player.
The appeal had the potential to alter the " AA " playoff matchups and dates.
As a result of the initial appeal, the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks scheduled playoff game against Mapleton-Minto on Friday ( Feb 1 ) was cancelled.
The WOAA denied the Tabistock appeal on Thursday night, but there is a secondary phase to the process.
Please be advised that the Tavistock Royals Senior Hockey Team Appeal heard Thursday evening by a quorum of the W.O.A.A. Board of Directors was denied.
However, Tavistock Royals as per W.O.A.A. General By-Law No. 3 now have the rights to proceed to a Review Panel, which I understand from Brad Stere, Manager of the Tavistock Royals, they intend to do.
When that submission is received in proper order with the applicable Review Panel fees, the W.O.A.A. will proceed to set up that meeting, hopefully to be held over this weekend.
